Lewis Announces Candidacy For 45th State Rep District

SETH LEWIS ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR ILLINOIS STATE REPRESENTATIVE, 45TH DISTRICT

LEWIS APPOINTED BY PARTY OFFICIALS FOLLOWING DEATH OF REPUBLICAN NOMINEE

BARTLETT – Bartlett resident Seth Lewis announced his candidacy today for the 45th State Representative District, which includes all or parts of Addison, Bartlett, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Itasca, Roselle, West Chicago, and Wood Dale.  Party officials slated Lewis to run for the 45th District.

The move comes after Dr. Michael Camerer, who won the Republican nomination for the 45th District in March, passed away.  “He was a great friend to me, and I’ll always remember his kind spirit and everything he did for our community,” said Lewis.

Seth is running on a platform to  clean up corruption in Springfield, enacting policies that would bring jobs back to our local economy, and working across the aisle to provide much needed pandemic relief to homeowners and business owners alike.”  Seth believes Illinois’ government needs more transparency and accountability to fight corruption.  In the wake of House Speaker Mike Madigan being named in a high profile bribery scandal involving energy giant ComEd, it is more important than ever that we elect citizens leaders who will stand up to the longtime speaker.

Seth will face Diane Pappas, who currently represents the 45th District, in the General Election.  Pappas was first elected to the seat in 2018, when she was appointed to be the Democratic nominee.  She reported accepting $1.4 million in in-kind contributions from campaign committees and sources controlled by or connected to Speaker Madigan during the 2018 Election campaign, and has accepted over $100,000 in August alone  from these same accounts for the 2020 General Election.

The 2020 General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd.
